Happy Birthday!

Well...belated birthday! Hello my darlings! Over the weekend was my oldest brother Colin's birthday! It was kind of sad because if you read my earlier blog posts, you would know that my brother recently left for college. I could imagine it was harder for him though with his birthday being so early in the school year. Luckily, it went great and he is having an AMAZING time at college! I am so thankful that  this has been such an great experience for him and I am so jealous that he got DC cupcakes for his birthday! Those things are to die for! 

Anyway I was at paper source with my mom and I got him the most adorable and nautical card I have ever laid my eyes on! Here is is...

This card just made me so happy on a sad shopping day!

Blog Problems!

Hi everyone! No post for today, my blog is seriously malfunctioning. I am sorry to say that this is probably the end for this blog! Nothing is working and my entire blogger profile is in shambles. I will continue posting on this blog until the new one is ready, but until then I am so sorry for the problems!

When Will Fall Come?

Happy weekend my darlings! Trust me it could not come too soon! I know for myself and many of my friends the school year is already taking its terrible toll. I have even read on some of the blogs that I follow that they are experiencing the same things! It seems like everyone is having a really hard time and to top it all off the weather is just being stupid. 

One day it's hot then it's cool and just when you think it's fall weather for good it gets hot again. Now since I don't want to just rank, I have had a lot of blog posts planed for fall ideas and they have not been able to happen. I guess I am just a tap bit ahead of time and I need to back track. So, I guess now you know that you have things to look forward to and just know that I can't wait for the leaves to fall... 

Oh and by the way, my friend is making a blog and I am so excited! Every preppy girl needs a preppy best friend and now she is a blogger too, we are soul mates hahahaha. Once she makes it I will have a blog post about it and also we will probably have a lot of co-bloggy stuff going on. So keep tuned!

Blogging Schedule!

                  Hello everyone! For those of you who have noticed my blogging has been quite sporadic lately. This is because the school I go to is very demanding and it leaves me barley enough time to sleep let alone blog. So, because of this I decided I need a schedule for days I will post a blog post on. I decided that I will consistently have a blog post on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. I will most likely have some random blog post also that will most likely be short and have announcements or other upcoming events.
                 Also, as just a heads up I am trying to update parts of my blog, but I have been having some problems. This is why I didn't have a post yesterday, sorry! If you have any pointers or would like to give me tips just leave a comment or feel free to email me at colormepreppy@gmail.com.

Dress Shopping Challenges!

Hello my darlings I hope your mondays have been kind to you! 

Yesterday me and my mother went on a mission to the mall to find a dress. My friend is having a sweet sixteen birthday party in about a week and I was hoping to find a cute LBD (little black dress) to dress up with some pearls, but to my dismay I found nothing! To be perfectly honest, it was an absolutely terrible shopping day! The day left me sad and very hungry which is never a good combination; however, the day made me think of todays blog post.

Terrible shopping days are never fun and they can often leave you feeling terrible. So, it is important to keep yourself positive while shopping or your day can take a noise dive. I know that for me, one        ill-fitting pair of pants or a really tight dress can send my day in a downward spiral. It is important to have things that will brighten your mood after these dressing room mishaps. 

Yesterday, after I had been to five different stores with not one dress, I threw in the towel and was beyond upset. The thing that brightened my day was a trip to Paper Source! My mother had to stop in to pick up a few things and looking at all of the adorable trinkets and fun books my day was looking up. Then, my mother spotted the perfect gift for my neighbor and a table full of nautical items I was back to my happy self! 

If your shopping day is looking down and you are ready to quit, try and find something to brighten your day!
