Hairstyles for Homecoming!

Hey, so I don't know about you but, my homecoming is tomorrow! The dress I am wearing requires an up-due so I have been hunting around. I originally didn't want to spend the money because I have had to buy a ton of dresses for different events, but I am really bad at doing my hair. I can barely braid it! I am thinking about either doing a half up half down sort of thing or a loose up-due, so here are a couple I am thinking about...

My Rent the Runway Experience!

Well I am feeling better now so, its time for a blog post! Last weekend it was one of my friends sweet sixteen. It was a party at a hotel in the city and I could not find a dress anywhere! So, I decided I would try out Rent the Runway.

Rent the Runway is a website that has designer dresses that you can rent for a greatly reduced price! The website is very easy to navigate and it had so many adorable dresses to choose from. When you make your decision on the dress you would like you mark the days you want the dress and reserve it!  You can rent a dress you get it for four days and you can rent it for eight for an extra fee. They have a great customer service if you have any problems and you can even order two sizes so if your dress doesn't fit you have a back up.

Some of the dresses are in more demand then others and personally my dress was my second choice, but I still loved it! It is by the designer Nha Khanh and I rented it for 100 dollars when you could buy it for 595!

Fall is Almost Here!

Just a few more days till fall officially arrives! I just thought I would put together a fall collage for those of you as excited as I am! There will probably many of these to come because I have been getting a lot of inspiration for things I would like to do for Fall. I am also very excited because I have a lot of blog post ideas that are getting me excited as well!

The Sunshine Award!

Hello everyone! So today I will finally have my Sunshine award up! I was nominated by my fabulous friend Katelyn or Kate from Seersuckers and Stripes! I have known her for a really long time and she is actually the reason I became preppy and then later started this blog! So, thank you so much!

So for the Sunshine award you are supposed to include a picture of it, but like Katelyn, I decided to make my own. It was supper fun and I just drew it on Paper which is a supper cool art app!

These questions I will be answering are from Katelyn and I hope you like it!

1. What is your most used piece of technology (phone, computer, camera, etc.)?

I would probably have to say my IPad. My school started the IPad initiative so we all had to buy one and since then I have been using it all the time! Also its great for blogging!

2. If you could change one thing about your appearance what would it be?

I have always admired my Dad's eyes and I wish I had gotten them from him! He has light sky blue eyes and I think people who have brown hair look really pretty with other colored eyes! However, I do still love people with brown eyes! 

3. What always has to be at your desk for you to work?

I am a BIG color coder so, I always have a maison jar full of colored pens, sharpies, and highlighters on my desk for notes and homework. Plus, they are great for helping you study for tests!

4. What fall trend are you loving right now? 

I have been absolutely adoring the leopard print trend for fall! I love the idea of it as a neutral if you were to wear the print in a pump, loafer, or belt. It adds an eye catching feature to any outfit! Since, I love this trend so much I had been on the hunt for the perfect leopard loafer, and I found the perfect pair at DSW! I will probably show them in an upcoming outfit of the day!

5. Who's your blogging bestie?

Well, I don't really have a blogging bestie sadly; however, I feel as though that is going to change. I have two old friends who blog, Kateyln (who I mentioned earlier) and Frannie from The Blonde Prep who I knew when I was really little. I wonder if she still remembers me! Then, I have had the pleasure of talking with Caroline from VA is for Lilly Lovers recently. She so kind and compassionate, I love her already! So, I hope we will develop a better blogging buddy relationship! Finally, and sorry I know this is a lot, but one of my really close friends Lauren is starting a blog! More details to come!

6. If you could change where you grew up, where would you change it to?

I would love to have grown up on the West Coast, like somewhere in Rode Island, Cape Cod, or Nantucket! I feel like I could of been exposed to more things preppy and they are all so beautiful and chill places. Also, when I was younger I spent a lot of summers in Connecticut, crap fishing and hanging out in a beautiful and quite nautical beach house! I really miss it!

7. What was the best thing about your childhood?

One of the best things about my child hood was going to camp! I love camp and it is one of my favorite places in the world. The camp I went to was a religious camp and it was just a time to get away from life, connect with God  and meet new people! All of the friends I made are some of the best people I have ever met and we still keep in contact!

8. What's your current favorite tv show?

I do not really have a tv show that I watch every week! I do watch a lot of What Not to Wear though, I really love that show. So, I guess we can count that as my favorite!

9. What is your must have makeup item?

I do not wear a lot of make up, but I do really like wearing light natural things like a bit of mascara, some liquid blush, and tinted lip balm! 

10. What is something that you hoard, that you definitely do not need?

Something that I am hoarding and definitely do not need it all of the t-shirts I own! I never wear t-shirts unless it is for a project wear it might get messy or for soccer, but all of my t-shirts hold memories and I can't seem to let them go. It is getting out of hand they take up so much space!

Wish List Wednesday!

           Hello everyone it's humpdayyyyy! Oh my goodness, sorry about that I had to! Anyway, I am starting a new series on my blog, it won't be every Wednesday but it will be recurring. So on my wish list today is a bag I have been lusting after for a while, the long champs 'Le Pliage' Convertible Hobo. I have been looking for a new bag for school for a long time now and I have wanted this one since last year. So, I decided that since my school started the iPad initiative and I do not need a big bag this one would be perfect! Tumbling With Tumblr!

New Hunters!

Hunter boots for fifty dollars? What!?! Hello! Yesterday, I had a shopping marathon, it started at three and ended at nine! I am still tired, but, it payed off. I found hunter boots for fifty dollars at Nordstrom Rack which is pretty amazing.

 After school me and my friend took a bus from our school to a train station and then walked the next 2 miles to Water tower. On our way to Water Tower we found so many hunter boots. My friend bought three pairs for the price of one and I just got one pair with some boot socks. Then we hauled four pairs of boots with all of our stuff from school and walked the next mile and a half to another Nordstrom Rack where I got bigger boot socks! I got short hunter green boots!

Wednesday Wishes!

        Its the middle of the week everyone! We're almost there! Today I wanted to talk about one of my wishes, something I only wish of having one day. An old fashioned car, and I have a particular one in mind... a nash metropolitan! For those of you who don't know, which i'm guessing is most, its a car from 1959 and i'm in love. 

I first spotted my love in Michigan a couple of summers ago, on the way to the beach. 

We drove past the cutest little cottage and out of the corner of my eye I saw it, it was like time was moving in slow motion, well not really but you know. The next day we saw the car again and met the owner at the beach, he told us the car was a nash metropolitan. I have been hooked ever since! Here it is along with some other cars I wouldn't mind having...

Happy Birthday!

Well...belated birthday! Hello my darlings! Over the weekend was my oldest brother Colin's birthday! It was kind of sad because if you read my earlier blog posts, you would know that my brother recently left for college. I could imagine it was harder for him though with his birthday being so early in the school year. Luckily, it went great and he is having an AMAZING time at college! I am so thankful that  this has been such an great experience for him and I am so jealous that he got DC cupcakes for his birthday! Those things are to die for! 

Anyway I was at paper source with my mom and I got him the most adorable and nautical card I have ever laid my eyes on! Here is is...

This card just made me so happy on a sad shopping day!

Blog Problems!

Hi everyone! No post for today, my blog is seriously malfunctioning. I am sorry to say that this is probably the end for this blog! Nothing is working and my entire blogger profile is in shambles. When Will Fall Come?

Happy weekend my darlings! Trust me it could not come too soon! I know for myself and many of my friends the school year is already taking its terrible toll. I have even read on some of the blogs that I follow that they are experiencing the same things! It seems like everyone is having a really hard time and to top it all off the weather is just being stupid. 

One day it's hot then it's cool and just when you think it's fall weather for good it gets hot again. Now since I don't want to just rank, I have had a lot of blog posts planed for fall ideas and they have not been able to happen. I guess I am just a tap bit ahead of time and I need to back track. So, I guess now you know that you have things to look forward to and just know that I can't wait for the leaves to fall... 

Oh and by the way, my friend is making a blog and I am so excited! Every preppy girl needs a preppy best friend and now she is a blogger too, we are soul mates hahahaha. Once she makes it I will have a blog post about it and also we will probably have a lot of co-bloggy stuff going on. So keep tuned!

Blogging Schedule!

                  Hello everyone! For those of you who have noticed my blogging has been quite sporadic lately. This is because the school I go to is very demanding and it leaves me barley enough time to sleep let alone blog. So, because of this I decided I need a schedule for days I will post a blog post on. I decided that I will consistently have a blog post on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. I will most likely have some random blog post also that will most likely be short and have announcements or other upcoming events.
                 Also, as just a heads up I am trying to update parts of my blog, but I have been having some problems. This is why I didn't have a post yesterday, sorry! Dress Shopping Challenges!

Hello my darlings I hope your mondays have been kind to you! 

Yesterday me and my mother went on a mission to the mall to find a dress. My friend is having a sweet sixteen birthday party in about a week and I was hoping to find a cute LBD (little black dress) to dress up with some pearls, but to my dismay I found nothing! To be perfectly honest, it was an absolutely terrible shopping day! The day left me sad and very hungry which is never a good combination; however, the day made me think of todays blog post.

Terrible shopping days are never fun and they can often leave you feeling terrible. So, it is important to keep yourself positive while shopping or your day can take a noise dive. I know that for me, one        ill-fitting pair of pants or a really tight dress can send my day in a downward spiral. It is important to have things that will brighten your mood after these dressing room mishaps. 

Yesterday, after I had been to five different stores with not one dress, I threw in the towel and was beyond upset. The thing that brightened my day was a trip to Paper Source! My mother had to stop in to pick up a few things and looking at all of the adorable trinkets and fun books my day was looking up. Then, my mother spotted the perfect gift for my neighbor and a table full of nautical items I was back to my happy self! 

If your shopping day is looking down and you are ready to quit, try and find something to brighten your day!
